Worcestershire Farmer's Markets
Farmer's markets are held in different venues across the County
and not only offer a unique shopping experience to the customer,
they are also a valuable source of support to local farmers and
producers.
Because of the policy of only selling local produce the markets
provide the opportunity to buy a huge range of fresh, seasonal
produce at competitive prices directly from the farmers and
producers. This means that customers know that they are supporting
the local economy and have the chance to ask questions directly to
the producer about the goods on sale.
Buying locally produced food also helps the environment. Because
'local' is defined as being within a radius of 30 miles (up to 50
miles for specialist products), it means that transportation is cut
down. This also helps to reduce the price of the goods on sale and
it means that they are truly fresh.
