George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950)

George Bernard Shaw, the eminent playwright, regularly performed in the early days of the Malvern Festival.  The Festival brought many of the world's great musicians and dramatists to the area. This event led to the building of the festival theatre, which is now part of Malvern Theatres entertainment centre presenting major drama productions with top actors and concerts catering for all tastes. A smaller music festival now takes place in May and a drama festival is held in August.
