William Langland
(1331-1400)
William Langland, the great 14th Century poet wrote his "Vision
of Piers Ploughman" in Malvern. The work is among the best examples
of Middle English poetry and for the first time he translated the
language of the abbey cloisters so that ordinary people could
understand it.
