Blood Brothers 01/03/2010 - 13/03/2010 20:00-22:30 Malvern Theatres , Malvern
View event description... Expand Image
Written by Willy Russell, the legendary Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with tragic consequences. The superb score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True. Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as the multiaward winning Blood Brothers, and Bill Kenwright’s production, having recently celebrated its 21st phenomenal year in London, continues to enjoy standing ovations at every devastating performance. No wonder Blood Brothers is now ‘The musical for all time’.
Fiddler on the Roof 04/03/2010 - 13/03/2010 19:30-22:00 The Rose Theatre, Kidderminster
View event description... Expand Image
KODS is bringing Fiddler on the Rood back to The Rose 20 years after the first, extremely successful visit. The story centres around the milkman Tevye, his wife Golde, their 5 daughters and the way they come to terms with the untraditional ways of the younger generation. The story is set against the background of the changing political mood in pre revolutionary Russia. The plot is more thought provoking and engaging than a lot of musicals but with the natural humour and exuberance of the characters and songs such as “Tradition”,“Sunrise,Sunset”,“Matchmaker” and the internationally known, “If I Were a Rich Man”, an evening of total involvement and enjoyment is in prospect! Evening and matinee performances are available.

Trial By Jury and HMS Pinafore 09/03/2010 - 13/03/2010 19:30-22:00 Palace Theatre Redditch, Redditch
View event description... Expand Image
Astwood Bank Operatic Society presents Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury and H.M.S. Pinafore or The Lass that Loved a Sailor, as a special double bill. In Trial by Jury, Gilbert spoofs the legal system as a drunken judge and incompetent jury try to settle the civil case of a breached promise of marriage. In addition they will be presenting Gilbert and Sullivan’s, H.M.S. Pinafore. Not only is it a wonderful operetta with a brilliant score and hilarious plot, but the story is of love transcending social class aboard the high seas. With its crazy cast of characters and such memorable songs as “I’m Called Little Buttercup”, “Never mind the Why and Wherefore,’”and “He is an Englishman,”,it has been a hit since its premiere in 1878. Together, Trial by Jury and H.M.S. Pinafore should create an unforgettable night of theatre.
