Green Tourism in Worcestershire

Worcestershire is a great green tourism destination.  There is an excellent public transport network as well as the National Cycle Network (NCN) linking Worcestershire to the rest of the UK in an environmentally friendly way.

If you are looking for a green holiday destination or a place to spend an eco rural break then Worcestershire is a great place to visit. Amongst our many environmentally friendly accommodation providers who advertise with us we have some businesses taking it one step further to provide a full green experience via accreditation in the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS).

Please click on the links below to find out more about each property.

Worcestershire also has some fantastic cafes and restaurants serving locally produced food and drink such as The Orchard Cafe, The Fleece Inn (National Trust), The Fold Eco Cafe and Holloways Greenhouse Cafe

The Worcestershire Green Code

Where we go and whatever we do, we have an impact. Make positive choices and you can help us care for Worcestershire and make that impact a positive one.

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
In Worcestershire we recycle! You can help us by refusing packaging and bags you don't need and using the recycling banks you'll find in many places across the county. Reusable cotton shopping bags are available from the Tourist Information Centres in Bewdley and Worcester. And if you can recycle where you're staying – please do. Even better! www.wastemissionimpossible.org.uk

  • Get out of the car!
Walking, cycling and riding are great ways to see the area without adding to traffic. Use public transport if you need to travel to your start point, but try exploring near to where you are staying – there are some fantastic places to see right on your doorstep….just ask! Choose How You Move

  • Chill out – Switch Off
You can see the stars at night in Worcestershire! Help us reduce light pollution, energy use and CO2 emissions by switching off lights and all those standby buttons when you don't need them. Help use to reduce water comsumption by using just the water you need; and then sit back and enjoy that view. www.worcestershire.gov.uk/green
