Local Specialities and British Favourites
Worcestershire is renowned for its excellent local food and drink produce, lots of which is served in restaurants, pubs and cafes throughout the county as well as being sold in the surrounding market towns and farm shops.
Visiting one of the county's farm shops will give you a real taste for Worcestershire's rural heritage and is a great place to purchase some fresh produce. You will find homemade jams and honeys, locally reared meat, dairy products, fresh breads, pressed juices, fresh fruit and vegetables, chutneys and pickles and a variety of cakes and pastries.
The county is famous for its fresh fruit and veg and this heritage is celebrated through several annual food festivals, such as the Pershore Plum Festival and the British Asparagus Festival in the Vale of Evesham.
As well as local produce, Worcestershire is home to many restaurants, pubs and cafes serving traditional British food. You can start the day off well by visiting one of our farmhouses or restaurants for a full English Breakfast, complete with locally reared bacon and sausages. For Sunday lunch there are many options for a traditional carvery where you can enjoy three or four kinds of meat, hot roast potatoes and delicious vegetables.
