Jon and Chris Lear bought the White Lion Hotel in May 1997, since then they have totally refurbished all the main reception rooms downstairs and all bedrooms, adding three more along the way. Each is individually furnished from a large four poster bedroom for that special occasion to a disabled friendly room/family room which has proved to be very popular. This is on the ground floor. A disabled public toilet is also available.
The restaurant serves excellent A la Carte meals and is recommended by both the AA and RAC. Jon and Richard, our Head Chef serve only freshly prepared food with our own speciality bread made each morning. The restaurant is non smoking. Bar snacks are available at lunch time and evening.
The bar is CAMRA Recommended with four Real Ales on all the time, 2 lagers, Guinness and Cider on tap.
The White Lion or should I say Jon holds his own Beer Festival on May Bank holiday every year with 25 Real Ales and 3 ciders available over three days.
