SOME OF THE SECRETS BEHIND ELGAR’S “ENIGMA VARIATIONS”
Elgar Birthplace Museum Supervisor, Chris Bennett said:
“Elgar loved to mystify people. It seems to have been one of his favourite hobbies. He also had a great sense of humour, and both of these sides of his character come over in the music. It’s fantastic that Donald has chosen this subject to open the series. He has conducted the “Enigma Variations” many times throughout his illustrious career, and there’s probably no-one who knows the music better than him. It promises to be a very entertaining morning.”
Tickets to the talk cost £6, to include interval refreshments, and will be available on the door. They can also be purchased in advance from www.elgarmuseum.org, or by telephoning the Museum on 01905 333224.
