Great Witley Church reopens
Great Witley’s wonderful Baroque Church has now reopened to the public after being closed since the beginning of the year for major roof repairs. The cost of £130,000 was partly covered by grants, including those from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the National Churches Trust among others, and the rest was raised by fundraising events, part of which was a very popular ‘Sponsor a Slate’ appeal which allowed people to have their names written on the slates. The church is open every day and visitors are welcome.
The reopening will be celebrated with the first concert of the year which is "A Brief History of Music": a concert celebrating the development of Western music from its origins in religion to the musicals and films of the present day. Performed by local music students in aid of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme (as part of the Diamond DofE Challenge) and Great Witley Church.
The concert will be held at 7pm on 3rd June, in Great Witley Church.
Tickets cost £5. Children aged 5 and under are free, and those aged 6 and 11 inclusive are half price. For more information, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01299 896 053
