Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle is running an inexpensive calendar of fun for the whole family this summer.

As part of our 'Summer Skool' event children can visit the museum to learn how to be different characters through fun 'teacher' led sessions, hands-on craft activities and themed trails, and every week is different! We're also encouraging children to come in fancy dress.

Week 1 (2-4 Aug) – Learn to be a Pirate
Week 2 (9-11 Aug) – Learn to be a King or Queen
Week 3 (16–18 Aug) – Learn to be Robin Hood
Week 4 (23–25 Aug) – Learn to be a Mad Scientist
Week 5 (30 Aug–1 Sept) – Learn to be a Knight or Princess

Activities will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in August, from 10.30am-4pm. Activity days are great value costing just £2 per child for a whole days activities after the normal admission fee (which is just £13 for a family ticket). For an extra £1 on the Robin Hood days children will be able to try their hand at archery too.

And in the last week of August, as well as our usual activities, we will be having a big Bank Holiday family event 'Knights and Princesses' where children will be able to make a sword, design a crown, learn to duel and much more.

Pippa Ashmore, Museum Events Manager, said: "School holidays can seem endless and it can start getting really expensive keeping the kids entertained but a visit to the County Museum is affordable fun for the whole family.
"Throughout the summer each week has a different theme, so families can visit more than once and be assured of finding new activities to delight and inspire them as well as learning something new. And for those who do plan to come more often the Family Pass (£32) offers great value and includes admission to all craft activities and events for a year.
"In between activities there is 1000 years of history to explore in the museum, or you can take advantage of our excellent café facilities or bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy in our fabulous grounds."
