trivago.co.uk inaugural Top Hotel Awards
Hotel search website trivago.co.uk have revealed the results of their inaugural Top Hotel Awards, using aggregated online user ratings in order to recognise the best-rated hotels, both regionally and nationally. The Manor Coach house in Worcester is the top-rated hotel in the West Midlands, followed closely by A Park View in Wolverhampton and Stratford Limes Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.
With a rating of 94.24, The Manor Coach House in Worcester is the best-rated hotel in the West Midlands. In second place is A Park View in Wolverhampton with a rating of 93.76. Third place goes to Stratford Limes Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, with a rating of 93.61.
The Manor Coach House is a B&B, while A Park View and Stratford Limes Hotel are both small, individually run hotels. This is a good representation of top-rated accommodation in the West Midlands, which contains a mix of B&Bs in hotels. In the top 20 are seven B&Bs, 11 hotels, one resort hotel (Wynchor Park Country Club) and one B&B offering self-catering apartments (The Stables – Deer Park Farm).
Unlike other regions of the UK, the top 10 hotels in the West Midlands are relatively evenly distributed, with no town or city claiming more than one top-rated hotel. If the top 20 is considered, however, there are five top-rated hotels in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Denise Bartlett, UK Public Relations:“With its friendly owners and appeal to individuals, families and business travellers, it is easy to see why The Manor Coach House is our top-rated hotel in the West Midlands. It also has a relatively low average room rate, fighting off competition from hotels with higher price tags. The West Midlands has a good mix of top-rated accommodation, including B&Bs, boutique townhouse hotels, country retreats and holiday apartments.
The trivago Top Hotel Awards aim to judge all accommodation fairly, whether they are a B&B in a small town, a rural retreat in the Cotswolds or a city hotel in Birmingham. It is really encouraging to see a range of accommodation, both in terms of price and geographical location, in our top 20.”
Terry & Sylvia Smith, Owners, The Manor Coach House: “We have been running the award winning Manor Coach House Bed and Breakfast, at Hindlip on the outskirts of Worcester for 8 years, and are absolutely delighted to have been awarded first place in the trivago 2015 Awards. Our location, close to the city and the M5 means that we are in a convenient position for both business visitors and tourists alike. Worcester is so well connected to the rest of the country and has so much to offer.
Worcestershire is an ideal place to run a business like ours. It is exciting to share this vibrant county with visitors from all over the world and in doing so we are helping to attract visitors to the county. We believe our commitment to providing guests with outstanding service and value has helped us to become one of the UK’s best Accommodation Providers.”
