MEET YOUR FAVOURITE STORYTIME CHARACTERS AT THE COUNTY MUSEUM THIS BANK HOLIDAY

Come and meet characters from all your favourite stories at Hartlebury Castle this Bank Holiday Monday (28 August, 11am-4pm). Visitors will get a chance to meet a whole host of characters including Professor Dumbledore, Mary Poppins, Belle, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie Bucket, Batman and more.

Professor Dumbledore will be offering lessons in how to use a wand, Mary Poppins is looking for helpful boys and girls to tell her story, the Witch from Room on the Broom will be mixing spells in the Scullery, and the Queen of Hearts is trying to find out who has stolen her tarts!

Families can join in with lots of fun activities and games including Quidditch, Croquet and Giant Peach Races.

There is also the opportunity to have a go at archery with one of Robin Hood's Merry Men or to get your face painted.

Creative kids can have a go at making their own fairy-tale character puppet, and families can follow the Storytime Explorer Trail around the Museum, discovering over 1000 years of history.

To really join in the fun why not come dressed as your favourite character and take part in the fancy dress competition at 3pm?

Pippa Ashmore, Event Organiser, said: “We're really excited about our big event day, there will be so much to see and do and we are very pleased that so many famous storytime characters have agreed to join us for the day. Children will have great fun creating characters, joining in with stories and playing Quidditch, and don’t forget to wear your best costume!"

Following the big event day visitors on Tue, Wed and Thurs (29-31 August) can also enjoy Storytime activities including storytelling sessions with Queen of Hearts, make a fairytale puppet, follow the Storytime Trail and decorate your own Wonderland biscuit to take home.

Admission charges to the museum are just £5 adults, £2.50 children & concessions and £13 for a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) and include all the event activities on Bank Holiday Monday except face painting which has a small charge. An additional charge of £2 for the day's activities applies on the Tue, Wed and Thurs.
