TALK AT THE BROADWAY MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY: CLOTHING THE BODY – TEXTILES FROM AROUND THE WORLD – 7PM 20TH JULY

To complement our summer Embroidered Bodies exhibition textile designer and independent researcher Corynna Jeudwine will be providing her insight into the items on display in a talk entitled, Clothing the Body – Textiles from Around the World.

The exhibition features clothing from the Ashmolean Museum’s rich collection and includes pieces from Egypt, the Greek Islands, Saudi Arabia, Central Asia, Pakistan, India and China. Items on display include an eighteenth-century Englishman’s waistcoat, a Chinese robe called an Ao and a Japanese coat from the opening years of the twentieth century.
