West Midland Safari Park is getting ready to host its annual Easter Eggstravaganza and this year, the Park has a whole month of Easter fun in store.

From 19 March to 17 April 2016, visitors will be able to take part in a whole host of exciting activities and competitions, suitable for the whole family and all included in the standard admission price.

More than 70 giant decorated eggs, some sporting images of animals and dinosaurs, will be spread out in a trail across the walk-through areas of the Park. Children will be encouraged to follow the giant egg trail and crack a special Easter password to win a yummy chocolate treat.

Also up for grabs are two iPads. In the Discovery Trail, guests will find a giant egg, containing lots of smaller eggs. By entering the competition to ‘guess the number of eggs’, they will be in with the chance of winning an iPad Air. There is also an iPad Mini on offer, for those who can track down the ‘golden egg’, have their photo taken with it and post it on the Park’s Facebook page.

Gemma Southall, Park Events Officer, said, “Easter Eggstravaganza is now in its third year and each year we have more and more exciting Easter fun to offer our guests on top of our normal offerings. This year you can meet the Easter Bunny, who will be on hand to help children with the Easter Trail, unscramble the Easter password and earn their Cadbury's Mini Eggs. There are also a number of other competitions to take part in onsite, with over £2500 worth of prizes up for grabs, including a 16GB iPad Air and 16GB iPad Mini! ”

Local schools and youth groups will also be getting involved with the Easter fun, as they have been invited to enter an Easter egg decorating competition. All the entries will be on display at the Park over the month long Easter event.

For the creative, the Discovery Room will be open daily, hosting an Eggsplorer’s Craft Club, where children and adults can take part in hands-on Easter inspired crafts and activities. Guests can also encounter some the Park’s smaller inhabitants by getting up close and personal with some creepy crawlies, including millipedes, cockroaches, giant snails and stick insects.

The Easter Eggstravaganza also includes specially themed animal encounters and shows, held at various locations across the Discovery Trail, Land of the Living Dinosaurs and African Village. This includes a sea lion show, where the sea lions will be helping Flora the Explorer to keep Easter Island tidy.

Additional to all of the Easter activities, are the Park’s usual attractions, including an encounter with the Park’s newest addition - a gigantic spinosaurus. This dinosaur reaches a huge length of almost 50 feet, making it one of the longest and largest dinosaurs in the Land of the Living Dinosaurs Exhibit. Like its new companions, the spinosaurus is animatronic, with moving eyes, mouth, neck, arms and tail. It brings the total number of life-size, moving and breathing dinosaurs to 40.

Easter Eggstravaganza is included in the standard admission cost of £22.00 for adults, £17.00 for children aged 3-15 years and £20.00 for concessions.

Children under the age of 3 years are admitted free of charge and admission includes a free-return ticket. The Adventure Theme Park is also open daily and rides are charged extra.
