Nr. Cleobury Mortimer,
DY14 8LS

This delightful home in a peaceful rural location with spacious gardens overlooking beautiful countryside has been converted out of a barn and outbuilding, part of the Coombe Farm a working farm next door.

All three double guestrooms are en-suite and two can be found on the ground floor, 2 of these are annexed to the property with their own private access. They are all maintained to a high standard and offer full central heating, tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV, clock radio and a hairdryer which can be enjoyed in any season of the year. Cox's barn is a non-smoking establishment for the safety and comfort of all our guests. Wholesome full English breakfasts provide the perfect start to the day. We use our own free-range eggs, locally produced bacon and sausages. An optional evening meal is available cooked using home and locally grown produce.

The house is situated in the beautiful countryside of South Shropshire an excellent centre for you to explore the many areas of great natural beauty, historic towns and unspoilt villages. Cox's Barn nestles in the lea of the Clee Hills and the Brown Clee, the highest point of the Midlands, with unrivalled views of the Long Mynd, and the Wrekin. Closer at hand are the historice towns of Ludlow, with its Castle, beautiful parish church and half timbered buildings, Bewdley the perfect Georgian town on the River Severn where you may wish to visit the craft museum or perhaps hop aboard the stem train to Bridgnorth.

A little further afield are the towns of Worcester, with the Cathedral and Royal Worcester China Museum. Shrewsbury, famous for its school and summer flower show. An experience not to be missed is a visit to Ironbridge Gorge and to stroll over the magnificent iron bridge and spend the day in the vast industrial museum.

If you have time why not visit the West Midlands Safari Park near Bewdley where there is a comprehensive collection of animals. On your drive to Bewdley and the Safari park you will pass through the Wyre Forest where you may wish to picnic or walk in this beautiful area, and with a little luck perhaps you will catch a site of some of the many fallow deer that inhabit this forest.

There are also several Natioanl Trust and English Heritage properties to visit such as Croft Castle, berrington Hall and Witley Court and Church (not to be missed) The Simon Evans Way and the Jack Mytton Way are within walking distance from Cox's Barn. A little further afield is Mortimer's Forest with a variety of walks to suit all needs.

The Secret Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms is a must including a simulated balloon ride. A warm welcome awaits you, tea or coffee and homemade cakes are served on arrival either in the conservatory or garden weather permitting. OS map and a varitey of leaflets are available for your use during your stay. Local sports amenities including golf, fishing and horse riding.
