Details

A feast of 20th and 21st century choral music comes to Worcester Cathedral on 18 November 2017 as leading County choir Worcester Festival Choral Society perform their autumn concert. French composer Maurice Duruflé’s exquisite 1947 Requiem combines ancient melodies with sophisticated modern harmonies to create a truly moving choral experience. Marking 100 years since the end of the First World War, the concert also features modern masterpiece For An Unknown Soldier, written by celebrated British composer Jonathan Dove in 2014. Performing with the 150 members of Worcester Festival Choral Society will be the Meridian Sinfonia and acclaimed soloists. Worcester Cathedral Director of Music, Dr Peter Nardone, conducts. Tickets from www.worcesterfestivalchoralsociety.org.uk or Worcester Live Box Office 01905 611427.
