Christmas Carol Trains at Severn Valley Railway

Christmas Carol Trains at Severn Valley Railway

Details

Make sure your vocal chords are warmed up as you join our scenic diesel rail-car on a trip from Kidderminster to The Engine House, our Visitor Centre at Highley.

Starting your journey at Kidderminster, the concourse will be filled with the sounds of Christmases gone by before you board the Carol Train.

On your journey, the train will stop at Arley where carols will be sung. Then it's back on the train for the journey to the Visitor Centre at Highley.

At Highley you must leave the train for the short walk (approximately 150 yards) to The Engine House, our Visitor Centre, where the choir will again lead the singing and a warming glass of punch and a mince pie will be served to passengers.

The Severn Valley Railway strives very hard to provide access for people of all ages who have a variety of mobility or other special needs. For the physically less able specially adapted vehicles, which allow wheelchair access, are available on certain trains. Disability friendly toilets are also fitted in these vehicles. At all stations, but excluding Northwood and Country Park Halts, ramps are available which connect between the train and the platform. The train crew and station staff will assist passengers in wheelchairs if required, they are used to doing this. If your group is likely to contain a large number of physically less able people, our staff at Bewdley will provide advice regarding the best trains to travel on and the most appropriate stations to embark and disembark. Please call. Please remember that our stations were built in the 1860s and, as such, pose some operational difficulties.
