2015 Visit Worcestershire Awards For Excellence

The winners of Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence 2015 were announced on Thursday 15th October at St Andrews House Hotel, Droitwich. The details of the winners can be found below.

Attendees to the event heard from Lady Cobham, Chairman of VisitEngland, Gary Woodman, Executive Director of Worcestershire LEP and Stephen Badham from Creative England.

Lady Cobham was appointed at VisitEngland’s Chairman in 2009 and reappointed in 2013, Lady Cobham has led the organisation through some exciting and challenging times. Under her chairmanship VisitEngland looks forward to continuing its drive to promote the England tourism brand and to working closely with the sector to grow tourism by 5% year on year, with a focus on future opportunities such as the England Rugby World Cup 2015.

Lady Cobham was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2014 for her long service to English tourism.

At the Awards, Lady Cobham highlighted the importance of tourism to the economy, which is worth £106bn, supporting 2.6m jobs, as well as future opportunities for the sector.

The Winners and Highly Commended in each category will now go forward to the VisitEngland Awards and the opportunity for national recognition.
