National Cycle Network (NCN)

The National Cycle Network (NCN) provides 10,000 miles of signed, safe and attractive cycle routes throughout the UK.  This means that almost 75% of the population are within 2 miles of the network.

One third of the Network is on traffic-free paths, with the rest on quiet, minor roads and traffic calmed streets.  These well-marked routes provide fantastic leisure opportunities, as well as links to towns for schools, work and the station.  There are a wide variety of routes including disused railway lines, canal towpaths, riversides and parks, all helping to bring the countryside directly into town and city centres.  The Network offers ready access to all: walkers, cyclists, young and old, and those with prams and wheelchairs.

Worcestershire has various cycle routes that meander through the countryside particularly Routes 45, 54 & 49.

To find out more about local, national and regional Sustran routes, visit www.sustrans.org.uk or please click here to search walks and bike rides in the UK and Worcestershire.
