National Route 45

Route 45 in its entirety will eventually link Chester to Salisbury and is a 200 mile heritage trail, taking in Ironbridge, the Severn Valley Railway and Stonehenge along its way.  The Route is marked by a white 45 on a red square sign.

A section of Route 45 known as the Mercian Way, runs from the Wyre Forest near to Bewdley through the Severn Valley Country Park at Alveley.  Look out for its distinctive Anglo-Saxon warrior waymarkers.  Contact Sustran for details.

The The scenic Bewdley to Stourport route (another section of Route 45) avoids the main roads and runs from Blackstone through to the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal.
