Spotlight on Bewdley Museum

Bewdley Museum in the heart of Bewdley town centre is home to many hidden gems. They have been working hard to provide their usual education, covid-safe events and even weddings. There are lots of ways you can still enjoy Bewdley Musuem, so let’s take a tour and find out what you can get up to on your trip to Bewdley.

Museum

The museum itself offers you the chance to learn more about the beautiful riverside town of Bewdley and the Wyre Forest area. There are artefacts a-plenty, audio histories available, an Anderson shelter and even the town jail. Visitors can enjoy craft demonstrations and a range of seasonal events.

The Garden Kitchen

The Garden Kitchen offers courtyard dining and delicious food made by the small team using lots of local produce! Outdoor seating and tables have also been extended into the delightful Jubilee Gardens and with a marquee area for a little more shelter. Be sure to try some of the tastiest snacks and desserts and make the most of this beautiful sunshine. There’s nothing better than a tasty Bennett’s ice cream and a stroll around the Gardens.

 

 

Gift Shop

Bewdley Museum Gift Shop offers homeware, textiles and jewellery, as well as cards and wrapping paper to complete your gift. There’s also a selection of wine, cider, local beer, honey, jams and chutney.

The gift shop is also proud bring a new Fairtrade range from Cambodia, which includes clutch bags made from upcycled cement bags and handwoven cotton Ikat bags, purses and scarves.  The items are made by artisans who have been affected by landmine injuries and polio.  A chance to purchase an item of sustainable fashion.

A selection of ‘Made in the Museum’ crafts can be purchased in the shop. All items are unique and handmade by resident craftspeople.

The shop is open daily 10am – 4.30pm.

Weddings

The museum offers a range of indoor and outdoor options for weddings!

The beauty and romance of the beautiful Guildhall can offer you a unique and inspiring space for your special day, right at the heart of a beautiful Georgian town.

Bewdley Museum has been working closely with Registration Services and within government guidelines so that weddings can still take place at the museum.

Bookings are currently being taken for wedding ceremonies in 2021 and 2022
