About this business

Opening times, reviews & more

Dormy House started life as a 17th Century Cotswold farmhouse with flagstone floors, log fires and acres of land. Some things haven't changed, and the hotel today still has real fires, panelled walls and long views over the Cotswold hills. The original house was called Willersey Hill Farm and its owners farmed the surrounding land. In the mid 1940s, the house was bought by Broadway Golf Club next door and given its new name: Dormy House. (Dormy is a term for an unbeatable round of golf!)Dormy House has been in the same family ownership since 1977, when it became the subject of the first big building project. In 35 years, the hotel went from strength to strength, building a loyal following and a reputation for excellent, personal service.Today, a multi-million pound investment has remade Dormy House for a new generation of discerning Cotswold visitors. Gone are the large function rooms and in their place is the new House Spa. There are two distinct dining areas; the Garden Room and The Potting Shed. Lovely lounges and new bedrooms have been styled by the London interior design company Todhunter Earle. Gardens were given the expert touch of landscape designer and TV presenter Chris Beardshaw. The hotel is part of the Farncombe hospitality businesses, all based on the 400-acre Farncombe Estate, which spans the land from Broadway to the top of the famous Fish Hill.
