About this business
Opening times, reviews & more
We are a traditional country pub dating from circa 1480. It is believed the pub was originally a Drovers Inn formed of 2 cottages with stables, (now cottage in car park). It was bought by the Moore family in 1985 and was run by them until 2018. They still own the building but it is now run by Neil Gardner who has retained its traditional feel and charm.
The Farmers Arms continues to thrive as a traditional pub; in the winter there's cribbage on Thursday and Sunday nights, and the dart board continues to be well used.Notable annual events include the Harvest Supper which is always booked out with no advertising needed, with an auction which results in some amazing prices especially for pickled onions! The big event of the year is the Summer Bash usually on a Saturday in early June with live music from several bands along with a pig roast and mini beer festival, it's always packed out!Home made pub food is served lunchtime and evening with the only exception being Christmas Day! With a traditional pub menu we attract customers from near and far with many holiday makers in the summer along with plenty of locals, some of whom you can set your watch by!The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding and many other activities, whatever you enjoy you will be welcome amongst the locals in the Farmers Arms. With a traditional log fire in the winter months to snuggle up to after a winter walk, and a large garden to enjoy in the summer, you can sit down, relax, and indulge in the fine food and drink on offer at the Farmers Arms Birtsmorton.
