Beginners Sewing Workshop

Be not afraid! Join us for this fun and friendly workshop and overcome your sewing fears.

Your day will begin with an introduction to your machine, setting it up, so the fun can begin. In the morning you will be shown how to make a beautiful envelope-style cushion, approx 45cm x 45cm, complete with filler, and in the afternoon you will make a super handy tote bag.

With easy-to-follow steps, you will learn; how to prepare, pin and cut fabric, how to stitch straight lines, pivot and change stitches, and how to follow a basic pattern. The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm. All the materials to make your filled cushion and tote bag will be provided. We will pause for a ploughman-style lunch partway through the day, which is also provided.

You will leave with two completed items and the confidence and know-how to carry on sewing when you get home.

Please note: You will need to bring a sewing machine with you.
