The Dream of Gerontius by Sir Edward Elgar, one of the choral worlds most vivid, stirring and popular compositions. The 150 voices of Worcester Festival Choral Society are bringing it to the magnificent surroundings of Worcester Cathedral.Depicting the final moments of everyman Gerontius and the dramatic journey of his soul into the afterlife. This ravishing work, brimming with musical drama and emotion, established Worcestershire-born Elgar as the leading composer of his day.Accompanying the Chorus one of Englands leading choirs of its kind will be internationally acclaimed soloists (Marta Fontanals-Simmons mezzo soprano / Angel; Mark Wilde tenor / Gerontius; Njabulo Madlala baritone / Priest & Angel of the Agony) and the superb Meridian Sinfonia orchestra. All under the baton of Worcester Cathedrals director of music Samuel Hudson.Join us for this unmissable concert experience!
