Inspired by the Great British Sewing Bee but not sure where to start?
Join us for this much requested beginners sewing workshop, and make your very own skirt.
Your tutor will guide you through the step-by-step process to make a basic knee-length wrap skirt – a staple and versatile skirt to have in your wardrobe.
You will also be shown how to make changes to the design should you decide to make another skirt in the future. Changes such as; adding a lining, changing the fastening, and changing the length and choice of material to suit the season or occasion. You will head home with a completed skirt and a pattern to use again and again.
You will need to bring with you a sewing machine, pins, tape measure and scissors. As long as you know how to thread the sewing machine, fill a bobbin and are able to sew in a straight-ish line, you will be in safe hands! You will also need to bring 2m material for your wrap skirt. A cotton or linen fabric is best for this workshop – avoid silks or stretchy fabrics as they can be challenging to work with as a beginner. If you are unsure, please do say and we will happily email you a few suggestions.
The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm. As with all our workshops, there will be a pause for lunch, which is provided.
Places on this workshop are limited to 6.
