Enjoy two days of traditional spring-time festivities at The Commandery including live theatre, living history, family games and Morris dancing.

Sunday 27th May (1.30-5pm) and Monday 28th May (10am-5pm)

The spectacular Grade I listed Commandery in Worcester will be festooned with garlands of oak leaves to celebrate the story of Charles II’s restoration. Find out about his flight from Worcester, after his Royalist army was famously beaten by the Parliamentarians during the final battle of the English Civil War in 1651, and how he hid in an oak tree to escape!

Enjoy traditional treats of small beer and plum pudding, and meet the King himself! There be a collaborative project with a paper-based artist creating artworks and pamphlets inspired by the English Civil War all afternoon on Sunday, and a one-off opportunity to see Civil War Stories, a live performance like no other, weaving true tales of politics, religion, monarchy and conflict at 3pm on Sunday.  On bank holiday Monday, have a go at Morris dancing with Bedcote Morris and immerse yourself in a 17th century living history camp including musket firing and cooking from the 1600s.
