Dates, address & more

Working with the incredibly versatile material that is willow, you will first be shown how to make a 5-6ft tall wigwam. Wigwams are perfect for supporting climbing plants such as sweet peas or clematis – they also look beautiful decorated with fairy lights!

Your experienced tutor will then introduce you to the traditional basket weaving techniques required to make an attractive birdhouse for your feathered friends. You will learn how to stake up the sides, pair weave, and create a lovely handle to hang your birdhouse outside.

The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm, and will include a pause for a ploughman-style lunch. Your lunch and all the materials to make your wigwam and birdhouse will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during your day.

This workshop is perfect for beginners and looks set to be a treat for you and your garden!
