Foodie Friday - National Fish and Chips day

It’s a British staple, so no visit to Worcestershire would be complete without a trip to the chippy, and in Worcestershire there are some great ways for you to experience some good old fish and chips.

We may not have the seaside, but we do have some fantastic ways for you to have your classic English chippy tea the Worcestershire way!

Russell’s Fish and Chips – Broadway

In the picturesque Cotswold village of Broadway, Russell’s Fish and Chips offer a critically acclaimed fish and chips and have featured in the Times Top 100 Places to Eat in the UK. Russell’s provide a top quality fish and chips experience with a nautical theme, that may seem out of place for somewhere so far from the sea, but they have certainly proved themselves seaworthy!

There is indoor and outdoor seating, but why not treat yourself to some Fish and Chips on the green which is a Broadway tradition!

Merchants – Bewdley

Fish and Chips were made to be enjoyed next to water, and while we can’t offer you a beach to sit by, Bewdley has some beautiful riverside views for you to enjoy with your salt and vinegar covered treat.

Merchants Fish Bar is set right by Bewdley’s famous grade II listed bridge over the River Severn and is a Bewdley institution. Why not grab a cone of chips for the perfect accompaniment to your walk down the riverside, or maybe sit on the steps on Severnside South to watch the sunset and share a tasty fish and chip treat with someone you love.

Redditch – The Golden Carp

One for the locals! An award winning chip shop in the north of the county, The Golden Carp often makes the headlines for being the best chippy in the Midlands.

The Golden Carp offers you the classic chip shop experience for your chippy tea treat on a Friday…or any day of the week! Established in 1995, this Redditch chip shop and its sister site Winyates Chippy have been winning awards since opening, so if you are looking for quality in a relaxed setting then this is the one for you.
