Glamping is the perfect escape for those of us who want a couple more home comforts than camping can bring, whilst still enjoying the peace and tranquillity that comes with being out in the great outdoors.
Here in Worcestershire there are plenty of exciting ways that you can enjoy a glamping experience.

Inside the tents expect comfy beds, twinkly fairy lights and bunting a plenty.
Whilst staying with Boundless Outdoors you also have the opportunity to add on some fantastic family activities with archery, climbing and assault courses to keep everyone happy.
So get together outdoors and enjoy a fun glamping trip in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside.
Alpaca Glamping has been founded by ‘Greenhouse at Barnes Close’ and Khantiki Yurts. A stay with us helps maintain the prestigious Barnes Close Manor House, a former Cadbury family summer home, It also helps support local community outreach schemes, and best of all, it gives our wonderful Alpacas a wonderful home to share with you when you visit.
Alpaca Glamping has 3 families sized Mongolian yurts; exactly like those used in the steppes of Mongolia, but set within the tranquil grounds of Barnes Close (the Manor House)! Each pitch has its own private area that you can enjoy. We have outdoor covered cooking space so you can make food rain or shine. Each Yurt has a private toilet and shower in a separate part of the Manor house with access to dishwashing facilities and fridge.
Now to the exciting bit… the yurts share the grounds and their names with the resident pack of 3 adult Alpacas! Angel is the leader of the pack, Little Judy is the most curious and muffin is Miss sensible! They will come and investigate what you’re doing as you relax outside the yurts, and if you and the family like, you can take them on a guided walk around some of the excellent walking routes connected to the site.
What’s more, we are easy to get to, just two turns of the M5, providing easy access to some of the Midlands’ best attractions. So please make the easy drive and have a lovely stay with Alpaca Glamping!
Ockeridge Rural Retreats
You may not guess that Ockeridge Rural Retreats is located just six miles from Worcester’s bustling city centre. Set within a nine-acre equestrian facility, and surrounded by fresh, rolling countryside, you’ll feel blissfully secluded from civilisation.
Recommended by The Guardian as one of the UK’s top glamping sites, here you’ll discover a sumptuous selection of shepherd’s huts and a luxury log cabin that are primed for relaxation, with bathing and kitchen facilities all provided.
The three lovingly crafted shepherd’s huts each boast their own unique style and personality. The Shepherds Retreat is a lodge-like hut that’s ideal for a family break, equipped with a downy kingsize bed and two single bunks. Drenched in luxury, there’s even a gorgeous enamel roll-top bath outside, ideal for a stargazing soak at the end of a long day exploring the local area.
The aptly named Hillside View is a quirky gem of a couple’s retreat, featuring a fold-away double bed (with a goose down duvet and Egyptian cotton sheets, naturally!) and an indulgent full-sized bathroom. Meanwhile, the expansive decking area allows you to make the most of those spectacular views.
In need of a touch more opulence? Ashwood Luxury Shepherds Hut is the ultimate retreat-for-two, with its oak-clad exterior and natural hessian-covered walls. Warm your toes in front of the log burner…or why not take a dip in the gleaming handmade copper bath, instead?
Last but by no means least, The Montana Cabin represents pared-down family luxury with a home-from-home feel. There’s a squishy L-shaped sofa, plenty of space for dining and socialising, and a kids’ bunk room complete with flat-screen TV. Oh, and did we mention the outdoor Whirlpool tub?
Once you’ve chosen your favourite retreat, why not come and look in on the beautiful horses as they trot around the riding area? The nearby paddocks (which you may be able to view from your retreat) are home to plenty of charming characters, including Paddy the Irish Draft, Fairy the cheeky Shetland pony, and not forgetting SuperTed, a handsome Irish Cob.
However you decide to spend your time, your hearts are sure to yearn for your sumptuous home-from-home at Ockeridge Rural Retreats. Prepare a well-deserved sundowner, then watch the first stars appear in the night sky as you chat the day away in perfect comfort.
