2022 marks a very special occasion, Queen Elizabeth II is the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

A number of events are taking place across Worcestershire so if your community isn’t having a street party or you don’t have plans for a BBQ at home, we’ve rounded up the best activities in the area.

Grab a cup of tea and read our blog which provides plenty of inspiration for celebrating in style.

Safari Street Party at West Midland Safari Park

A carnival atmosphere is expected at one of the County’s favourite attractions. Expect live music, entertainment, stilt walkers plus all the usual feature attractions! Something brand new for WMSP and not one to miss.

The Royal Garden Party

Worcester BID are hosting a Royal Garden Party in the streets of Worcester. Head down for a two-day-long, giant summer street party! No street party in your area? No problem. Head on down to New Street & Friar Street in Worcester to enjoy this fantastic community event.

Bring a picnic or order directly from local restaurants.

Dates: 4th & 5th June

Severn Valley Railway

One of the finest heritage railways is set to host one of the largest jubilee parties outside of London! Travel in the purple locomotive No. 70 ‘Elizabeth II’ painted especially for the Queen’s jubilee and glide through the Worcestershire countryside.

There is even a vintage fairground, Paddington bear exhibition and a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster performing flypasts every day.

Elgar Festival

The best of British music celebrated over the Jubilee weekend with the Elgar Festival!

A number of events are taking place over the weekend including Choral Evensong at Worcester Cathedral and Royal Platinum Jubilee Tea Party and Concert at The Royal Porcelain Works.

It’s set to be a cracker!

Worcester Warriors

Nothing beats a bank holiday sporting fixture! Get behind the Warriors and experience some of the best atmospheres in Worcestershire. Bath Rugby are set to visit the Sixways Stadium for the season finale.

Becketts Farm

If you are planning on hosting a street party then make sure to stock up with supplies at Beckett’s Farm! With plenty of local produce on offer and delicious treats to takeaway look no further. There is even the chance to pre-book picnic boxes!

Why not enjoy a Jubilee themed afternoon tea in the main restaurant. It looks AMAZING!

Brockencote Hall

A seven-course afternoon tea experience is on offer at the magnificent Brockencote Hall. Starting with a very special cocktail on the terrace, you will then be wined and dined in the Chaddesley Restaurant, which includes a glass of sparkling English wine.

Museums Worcestershire

Celebrations are afoot for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with special events, family trails and crafts at The Commandery, Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle, and Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.

Children can turn themselves into a majestic queen or king by creating Royal Revelry crowns at the Commandery or experience the fabulous fifties at Hartlebury Castle where guests are invited to dress in their best 1950’s gear!

Webbs Garden Centre

Celebrate the special occasion at Webbs, Wychbold for an afternoon tea party with The Swingettes!

Wearing vintage costumes, red lipstick and victory rolls to match, this lively trio will entertain you with songs from the ’40s and ’50s while you enjoy our indulgent Jubilee-themed afternoon tea

Worcestershire County Cricket Club 

The cricket season is now upon us and all focus is turned to a local derby! Birmingham Bears are set to visit New Road on Friday 3rd June.

Fast, furious and instant T20 cricket in Worcestershire! With a variety of street food and a live band performing, what a perfect way to celebrate the jubilee weekend.
