Photo Competition Guidance and Terms and Conditions

At a time where we can’t visit some of our fav places, here at Visit Worcestershire we want to celebrate all things Worcestershire!

From our food, to our amazing Countryside as well as our heritage and culture. We want to know your #myworcestershire.

Our photo competition will be running weekly, with a new category each week. At the end of the 5 weeks, our weekly winners will be put into a prize draw to win a hamper of local goodies and tickets to the West Midlands Safari Park (more prizes to be added!)

The Categories:

Festival’s

Monday 8th June :
Celebration’s from 2019 – be it the Beer Festival, Plum or Asparagus Festival, After Work Feasts, Eastnor Fireworks or the Tour Series Cycle Race – if you have happy memories of events from around the County last year – share them with us. 

Great Outdoors – Monday 15th June:

as a County we are lucky to have so many beautiful natural sights on our doorstep – be it the river Severn, the Malvern’s or the Wyre Forest – share with us your fav locations from around the County. 

Sightseeing/Heritage Monday 22nd June:

From Castles, to  Cathedrals, to Baby Tiger Cubs – we have it all here in Worcestershire. Share with us your best photos from our outstanding visitor attractions.

Culture and Sport Monday 29th June:

From Cricket, to Cycling to Rugby – were a sporting County for sure – along side our bustling arts and creative sector – we have a lot to celebrate. Share with us your Sporting or Cultural highs.

Worcestershire at Night/Foodie – 6th July:

From gigs, to bustling pubs, amazing food, to lightshows and fireworks – Worcestershire is a fab evening destination. Show us your #myworcestershire and celebrate the Counties evening economy.

How it works:

To enter your photo to the Competition you must:

  1. Follow Visit Worcestershire on Instagram (Facebook and Twitter would be great to!)
  2. Share your photo with us on Instagram using the #myWorcestershire with a description of your photo and why you love it/the County. 
  3. Email the image with your contact details to visitworcestershire@worcestershire.gov.uk
  4. Submissions must be entered by 12noon on the following Sunday from the Opening Date.
  5. The overall winner will be announced by Monday 13th July.

Photos must be:

  1. Taken by you
  2. Be relevant to the Category and not include any inappropriate content
  3. Entries via email should be no larger than 10MB and be high resolution. They should be submitted as a JPEG with no watermarks, signatures or borders included.

 

Terms and Conditions
  1. No more than 10 entries per person, under any category are permitted. 
  2. Photos must have been taken in the last five years and you must have taken them yourself or have permission to share them from the original photographer. 
  3. By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and your are eligible to claim the prize should you win. 
  4. The County Council has the right to disqualify you or refuse to gift the prize if you have breached any of these conditions or acted contrary to the spirit of the competition. 
  5. Worcestershire County Council and District Councils have the right to use the image across its Social Media, Website and associated partner sites to advertise and promote Worcestershire. 
  6. For the avoidance of doubt, by submitting your entry you warrant that all persons featured in your entry have given you their express consent for their image to be used and, in the case of vulnerable adults or persons under 18 years of age, you warrant that you have obtained express consent from their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
  7. The competition will be judged by two members of the Visit Worcestershire team and the winner will be contacted via email. 
  8. The decision of the Council/Visit Worcestershire regarding any aspect of the Photography Competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
  9. The County Council reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
  10. The Council is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and will only use your personal information in accordance with there terms and conditions.  
  11. Winners may be required to participate in publicity related to the Photography Competition which may include the publication of their name and photograph in any media. You agree that your personal data may be used for this purpose.
