Artrix provides a year round programme of music, theatre, cinema, drama and comedy in its 300 seat auditorium.
The Artrix gallery brings the best of challenging new work to Bromsgrove in its monthly exhibition programme of 2D, 3D and mixed media artwork.
Artrix is a modern arts centre based in North Worcestershire and attracts some of the most popular performing artists in the UK. Cited by the independent as one of the top comedy warm-up venues in the country, Artrix, which only has a capacity of 300, has an exceptionally wide programme of events considering its size. Highlights in the past have included talks by Michael Portillo and David Starkey, comedy performances by Alan Carr and Lee Evans, family theatre performances by Sooty and Basil Brush, a piano recital by James Rhodes and a wide variety of sold out cinema and live theatre screenings such as the RSC’s production of Hamlet starring Benedict Cumberbatch. Every type of musical taste is catered for at Artrix including folk, jazz, rock and pop, classical, hip-hop, choral, tribute bands, opera, swing, country and early music. During the summer holidays, Artrix hosts its annual Family Fun Festival. This encompasses a wide range of family friendly performances, workshops and activities, some of which are free. Throughout the year, and particularly at weekends and during the holiday times Artrix screens family films and stages children’s’ theatre shows by some of the top family theatre companies in the UK including Oddsocks Theatre, the People’s Theatre Company and Storybox
