At our tea rooms we aim to use as many local ingredients as possible and we’re fortunate to have a plethora of great producers on our doorstep, most within two miles: Goodman’s Asparagus, Drew’s Tomatoes, Owen’s Strawberries and Raspberries, Mawley Milk, Hillhampton Honey and Mill Orchards Fruit Juice.
Anna in the next village makes our amazing fruit cake using an old family recipe. She also makes our carrot cake. Gill makes the lemon drizzle and Jenny the delicious millionaire’s shortbread. Naomi and Clare make our quiche using as much seasonal and local produce as they can. They also make cakes for us including a gluten free option which we always try to have available. Our bread, panini loaves and teacakes are all baked locally. We bake our own scones, make our own soup and home cook our ham.
We make our own lattes, cappuccinos and espresso using Ethical Addictions fairly traded coffee and our pots of tea are always served with a jug of hot water to get the strength just right and allow for an extra cup or two. We serve a range of fruit teas and decaf tea and coffee too.
