Steam trains operate along the Severn Valley Railway, our superbly restored branch line, most weekends of the year and daily from May 3rd to October 1st. In addition to operating throughout all local school holidays.

The Severn Valley Railway boasts one of the largest collections of working steam locomotives and coaches, even including some rolling stock which is over 100 years old.

A ‘Freedom of the Line’ train ticket offers the best value fare, permitting unlimited travel on the day of your visit and include FREE admission to The Engine House Visitor Centre.

At the Visitor Centre there are eight full size steam locomotives plus other exhibits including the King George VI’s Royal Saloon.

Special events have always played an important role in Severn Valley Railway calendar and 2018 is no exception.

Firm favourites such as the ‘Step back to the 1940s’ is back and ‘ and a family fun weekend with PAW Patrol’s Marshall and Rubble in October are sure to be a hit!

Restaurant and buffet facilities are available at the main stations and a trolley service is available on most trains. The restaurant at Highley is well worth a visit and boasts stunning balcony views across the Severn Valley, perfectly overlooking the tracks.

You may find that just one visit to the Severn Valley Railway is not enough, so you may have to come back.
