Severn Valley Railway – Weddings
Number One Comberton Place, Kidderminster, DY10 1QR
Take an exciting steam train ride along the Severn Valley Railway’s scenic 16-mile span from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth. Explore historic stations, enjoy interactive exhibitions, experience fantastic events and much more!
The Severn Valley Railway provides a unique setting for those special celebrations and is now licensed to hold wedding ceremonies at our Visitor Centre the Engine House at Highley – a real venue with a difference.
Both private dinners and large scale functions can be accommodated. Parties of up to 350 can be accommodated in a private train; up to 140 guests can be wined and dined in style in immaculate dining cars, and for exclusive parties of up to 23, one of our luxurious Observation Saloons can be hired.
In addition to our service of steam hauled trains we are now pleased to offer new ‘fixed’ facilities at Kidderminster and Highley. Use of our facilities can again be tailored to individual requirements and linked to our service of steam trains if required.
So whatever the occasion you can be assured of a warm welcome from the steam railway with the personal touch.
The Valley Suite
Our new licensed refreshment and function room at Kidderminster now completes the station. This work includes a new glazed concourse canopy.
The new facilities at Kidderminster provide our customers with a licensed Refreshment Room together with a function room, when not required in connection with our train services.
The Engine House
Against the backdrop of our reserve collection of steam locomotives and other exciting displays and exhibitions, The Engine House provides the opportunity for events and activities for groups of up to approximately 200 people.
Full catering facilities are available at The Engine House with event packages to suit all requirements and the venue is fully licensed.
Restaurant Car Services
One of the great traditions of the Steam Age was the railway dining car, with its immaculately-laid tables, uniformed staff and high quality cuisine. All this is faithfully recreated for your pleasure and for the enjoyment of your guests.
Whilst relaxing over a leisurely dinner you can glimpse the rooftops of medieval Bewdley, you can sample the beauty of the river as it glides through ancient forests, and you can pause to breathe in the tranquillity of Arley village as your train passes through its station.
Charter Your Own Train
The Severn Valley Railway offers you the opportunity to entertain your guests in a unique atmosphere of bygone days. The combination of steam-hauled charter trains and quality cuisine can be tailored to your individual requirements and is available to you, daytime or evenings, seven days a week. Choose between our restaurant car train which can accommodate up to 140 diners or one of our Observation Saloons which provide an intimate dining venue on the move for groups of up to 23 people.
The Severn Valley Railway is an ideal choice if you are looking for an unusual venue close to the heart of the West Midlands yet offering excellent value for money.
