Food & Drink Events
Worcester has a long association with food and drink, which is why we celebrate with so many events and festivals.
Droitwich Salt Fest in September celebrates the town’s unique salt heritage dating back to the Romans, who would extract rock salt and brine in Droitwich. The town also holds an award winning Food and Drink Festival in June, with an estimated 15,000 visitors descending on the town to sample the goods from over 100 stalls.
The Pershore Plum Festival held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, and turns the town purple, in celebration of this fruit, which has a long and rich history with Pershore. While Pershore has plums, Evesham has asparagus, and hold the British Asparagus Festival in the Vale of Evesham between April and June. Key events include the Great English Asparagus Run, Asparagus Coach Tours, and the Asparafest Music and Food Festival.
Worcester Foodie Festival is held in Worcester City, with over 60 food and drinks stalls as well as lots of entertainment. But it’s not just about one-off events; Eckington Manor in Pershore has a cookery school with plenty of different courses, and if you’re lucky you might even bump into their head chef Mark Stinchcombe, who won Masterchef: The Professionals in 2015!
