Historical Events

Worcestershire has a rich history and heritage which is celebrated throughout the year.

Many attractions host a wide range of events to compliment their offering. Discover History is run by professional historical performers, that like to concentrate on providing historical accuracy and authenticity through demonstrating the personal lives of how our ancestors lived, worked and enjoyed their pastimes. They also offer costumed guided walks around the city.

The Commandery tells the story of the English Civil War, with re-enactments taking place on Fort Royal Hill.

Worcestershire is also home to some wonderful National Trust properties including Greyfriars, Croome, and Hanbury Hall, as well as the newly acquired The Firs: Birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar.

Witley Court is an English Heritage property which also hosts events around the year. If you’re in Worcester City don’t forget to see what is on at the Tudor House Museum.
