You’ll discover the golden age of steam and marvel at the incredible steam locomotives as you step back in time. Along the 16-mile route of the Severn Valley Railway lie chances to discover hidden gems of Shropshire and Worcestershire, travelling through rolling countryside, seeing what you can spot along the way.
As well as regular daily services, the Severn Valley Railway runs many special events throughout the year, and specialises in luxury dining experiences.
There’s plenty to discover whilst on the Railway for young, old and those in between. Why not grab an ice cream in Bridgnorth or take a long bike ride along the river at Bewdley? Or ride the Coalyard Miniature Railway at Kidderminster?
There’s even more to discover at The Engine House at Highley, where the Visitor Centre gives youngsters a chance to delve into the intriguing history of Britain’s railways, enjoy a variety of interactive exhibitions and meet Gordon, the blue engine. Fancy going on safari right here in the heart of Worcestershire? Based between Kidderminster and Bewdley, West Midland Safari park has been home to a whole host of exotic species, such as bears, baboons and big cats since 1973. Perfect for the animal lovers amongst us, the park now has around 140 different species, including cheetah, lions, elephants, giraffes and rhinos.
The safari itself is a 4 mile drive through free roaming animals some of which may delight you in walking right past your car window. After your drive, you can then visit even more animals at the park’s walkthrough experience with penguins, bats, an aquarium, hippos, lemurs and loads more!
And for the thrill seekers, there is the Adventure Theme Park open from 11.30am every day during the summer season, with rollercoasters, water rides and all the fun of the fair to round off your really wild day!

Set in over 18 acres of farmland, Little Owl Farm Park offers a fun visit for all the household. Located just outside of Ombersley, Worcestershire and we have a variety of animals for you to meet as well as lots of outdoor areas for you to explore.
You can visit the Petting Barn where you have the chance to meet with some friendly rabbits, guinea pigs and chicks, or for those of you who are reptile fans, you can find some more scaly residents in the Critter Cabin.
Little Owl Farm Park also has a number of animal paddocks, which are home to ponies, alpacas, deer, goats, chickens and many more. You can even stop off along the way to explore the Nature Trail which has recently been taken over by some fairies!
But it’s not just animals that you can find at Little Owl Farm Park. There’s also a range of play areas to help keep your little ones entertained including the recent addition of a climbing wall, which includes a timer so you can test out who the fastest member is in your household. And if you really want to test the family, perhaps test out your balancing skills on the Commando Course? The fun doesn’t stop there! There’s also the Bouncy Pillows, the Outdoor Go-Kart track and the indoor Pedal Tractors.
