‘Tis the season for some festive family fun and the perfect occasion to treat yourself and your loved ones with magical experiences to get into the festive spirit. Christmas is a magical time in Worcestershire – browse our list below to see what’s on across the county this winter.

Winter Glow at Three Countries Showground

Immerse yourself in all things seasonal, with an impressive line-up of activities and excitement on offer at Winter Glow this winter.  Enjoy from the festive experiences below:

  • Ice Skating on one of the region’s largest covered real ice rinks, afterwards visit our indoor Ice Cafe for a Hot Chocolate or Mulled Wine.
  • Journey on the Arctic Express land train, visit the Elves workshop and meet Santa with personalised grotto experiences
  • Head out on the Illuminated Light Trail, featuring Light Tunnels, Giant Flowers, Lake with dancing Water Fountains, and a warming Fire Garden.
  • See the Malvern skyline from a birds-eye view, in the town’s first ever Giant Observation Whee

Webbs Enchanted Gardens

Immerse yourself in a fairy tale world, as you make your way through twinkling lights and lanterns to the snowy north pole.

This winter we are delighted to bring you the fairy tale light trail – ‘The Enchanted Gardens’.

Tiptoe through the glowing toadstools in the fairy gardens, past the illuminated gingerbread houses and into the woods to find Hansel & Gretel’s cottage. Beware of the giant! Wrap up warm as you journey onto the snowy north pole to see Santa and his elves busy in their workshop before taking some festive photos to remember the occasion.

Severn Valley Railway

Get in the Christmas Spirit and enjoy a family fun-filled journey with Severn Valley Railway. Choose from a variety of magical trips running this winter.

Steam In Lights – Experience a magical adventure on a steam train wrapped in thousands of lights! Travel through enchanted woodlands and countryside to see dazzling displays.

Carol Trains – Strike up the band for a musical Christmas adventure, as you travel from Kidderminster to Highley to see a festive concert.

Santa Trains – Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with your family on a magical journey to Arley to see the ALL-NEW Christmas Show, as Jingle and Jangle the mischievous Elves return for more festive fun!

The Enchanted Express – The BRAND-NEW Christmas Experience from Bridgnorth Station, featuring narration by BAFTA-winning actor and star of Harry Potter, Dame Julie Walters. As you settle down into your comfy seats (dressed in pyjamas, of course), listen to an enchanted Christmas tale and festive music as the train takes you through a winter wonderland. Along the journey, you’ll meet Father Christmas and other characters, with each child receiving a quality gift.

Enjoy some winter ice skating at the under-cover outdoor ice-rink at Sixways this festive season, opening on 26 November 2021, and running through to 31 December 2021.

The covered real-ice ice rink can host up to 75 skaters at any one time and will be staffed by fully qualified skate marshals.

Churchfields Christmas Fayre

It’s back, bigger and better than ever – launch your festive season with a visit to Churchfield’s sparkling Christmas Fayre!

Hosting over 30 local artisan stalls offering a wealth of Christmas gift ideas from beautiful arts and craft stalls plus Worcestershire produced food & drink treats including locally brewed beer and much more!

A range of beautiful Christmas Trees will also be for sale. So grab a turkey cranberry bap, a baileys hot choc or mulled wine and enjoy the Christmas Choir while you browse for unique gifts to delight your family and friends.

Santa Safari at West Midlands Safari Park

Enjoy a magical festive day out for the whole family, combining a four-mile winter Safari and a visit to Santa in his Grotto. You will be greeted in the Discovery Trail by one of his helpful Elves who will show you to the sleigh where you will be magically transported to the North Pole & into Santa’s Grotto!

Santa’s Grotto is a wonderfully decorated log cabin with its own Christmas tree, festive fireplace and of course Santa himself! You can tell him what’s on the top of your Christmas wish list and a helpful Elf will take a picture of you together!

After meeting Santa, you will make your way to the Elves’ Workshop where children can pick their own present. With a wide selection of gifts to choose from, the children will be spoiled for choice!

Head to Mrs Claus’ Kitchen to pick up your complimentary refreshments and don’t forget to pop along to the Sea Lion Theatre to watch a show!

Breakfast with Santa at Churchfields

Make Christmas extra special for your little ones by coming to Churchfields for Breakfast with Santa!

After a delicious full English farmer’s breakfast, elves will escort you to a very special, socially distanced, group audience with Father Christmas. Children will be able to choose an unwrapped gift on departure.

Crumplebury Does Christmas for the Kids

Take the festive party outdoors, at Crumplebury!

This Christmas, gather your smallest humans, wrap up warm and follow us into the woods for a fabulously festive experience. Discover the farm animals on an enchanted trail, nestle in for a live, festive performance in the outdoor theatre space, enjoy delicious hot food cooked on the back of the farm Landy in a secret, candlelit woodland glade, then meet Santa as he moves from table to table.

Keep your eyes peeled for forest fairies before joining in with carols around the grand piano. Then it’s time to head back to Crumplebury for hot chocolate and to collect homemade goodies to enjoy over the holidays.

Leave the shire with hearts full of Christmas magic.

Christmas Tree Festival

The magic returns to Worcester Cathedral this winter with the glittering Christmas Tree Festival. The sparkling Christmas trees are innovatively and individually designed and decorated by local schools, charities, businesses and organisations. They are a wonderful sight to be enjoyed by all the family.

Christmas at the castle (Hartlebury castle)

Come and join in the seasonal spirit at the Castle which will be dressed especially for Christmas. Listen to hand bell ringers playing in the Great Hall at 12 and 2.30pm. Families can pre-book a visit to see Father Christmas in the Castle’s old kitchen.

Mother Christmas will also be making appearances over the weekend. Follow the Christmas Elf Trail, buy a fresh wreath made by the Castle’s gardeners, get yourself a yummy pizza made by Urban Village Pizza in the courtyard and warm up with a drink of hot chocolate and mince pies in the Saloon.

Arctic Animals Trail and Crafts

Can you help Bernard the Polar bear find all of his friends before his party? A snowstorm has blown in and Bernard’s friends are hidden in the snow!

Arctic animals are hidden around the museum, and at the end you’ll get chance to craft your own seal, narwhale or polar bear! There will also be some messy sensory arctic play!
